New City, New Blog

Change is hard. 2020 brought about a lot of changes… to the entire world.

Let me start by introducing myself (for those who don’t know me). I’m Tony. Photographer. Videographer. Husband. Dad. Star Wars nerd. Yep, that sums it up! My portfolio of work covers a variety of subject matter from weddings and engagements to yachts and cars. I love the idea of shooting all sorts of things and not getting wrapped into just one. My wife and two kids keep me pushing forward. Everything I strive to achieve is for their well-being. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and have been since I was a kid. I just hope my son appreciates it as much as I do… but he’s not getting my stuff!

Back to our regularly scheduled blog topic… For myself, there were a few big changes lined up in 2020. Despite being in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, my family & I decided it was a good time to move. Maybe not the best idea at the time but we’ll see. We decided to pack our things and leave our home in Fort Lauderdale and move to Winter Garden, Florida. It’s a great little suburb outside Orlando. None of the hustle and bustle of South Florida. Definitely more family-friendly.

Which brings me to big change #2. In 2020, we were blessed with the birth of our second child. We always planned on having 2 kids, we just didn’t really plan on fighting covid, moving to a new city, and having that second child all within a matter of months! But who doesn’t like a little stress?!?!?! That being said, our baby girl was born happy and healthy. Our lives are full of love and joy… and a lot of diapers.

Finally, the biggest change is adapting my business to a new city. A lot of what I do comes from word-of-mouth referrals. In Fort Lauderdale, it was easy because I lived there long enough to get to know a lot of people. Almost all of my work came from “I know a guy” type of referrals. Well, its hard to get those referrals when you don’t really know anyone. The road ahead is a long one but eventually I’ll get to know a lot of people here. And hopefully, those people will say “I know a guy.”
